Declaration

In order to ensure the well-being of the people of Latvia the Government forming parties – "Jaunā Vienotība", "KPV LV", Jaunā konservatīvā partija, "Attīstībai/Par!" and "Visu Latvijai!"-"Tēvzemei un Brīvībai/LNNK" – have agreed to work together on these objectives:

  • strengthening the Euro-Atlantic course
  • fiscal discipline
  • uncompromising commitment to the rule-of-law
  • reducing inequality
  • rejuvenating the nation.

Priorities of the Government are – the alignment of the financial system, the strengthening of national security and the rule of law, the implementation of the administrative territorial reform, the improvement of the quality and accessibility of the health care system and the education system, the removal of the mandatory procurement component, the increase of the economic competitiveness, productivity and investment, and the improvement of the demographic situation. The government’s work on the implementation of these priorities will be based on a strict fiscal discipline with the intention of building surplus in the state budget.

The government must provide a solid foundation and set clear objectives for Latvia’s development by 2030. In order to achieve these objectives, a dialogue between different groups of the society is needed, as well as an agreement on national development priorities and means to achieve them through adopting a comprehensive National development plan for 2021 - 2027.
